A three-sided marketplace handling 40k listings and split payouts.
Buyers, sellers, and an operations team on one platform — catalog, search, checkout, split payments, and moderation — built to stay fast as listings grew into the tens of thousands.
The client's previous build buckled under concurrent sellers: search timed out past a few thousand listings, payouts were reconciled by hand, and there was no moderation tooling. Launch traffic would have taken it down.
I rebuilt the data model around real access patterns, added compound indexes and Redis-backed caching for search, moved payouts to Stripe Connect with webhook reconciliation, and shipped an admin console for moderation and disputes. The whole thing went out behind a test suite and CI.
Send us the rough idea, even if it's messy. We'll come back with how we'd build it and roughly how long it'd take, usually within a day.
